Ears Pierced
After talking to two mom's of young girls, Marci and Tina, we felt like we would like to get the your ears pierced. We found a place we liked, that was more of a traditional tattoo parlor than a mall piercing place. We went in to get it done and got completely educated on piercing by the place's piercer and self described body-modifier, Chris. Chris told us more than we really needed to know, but in the process sold us that he was the guy whom cared the most about doing this right. He said he would call us back when he found the right earrings to safely place in a baby's ears. Finally he got back to us and set the piercing up for Saturday. The girls, all three, did great. After a few minutes of crying you were fine.

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteWas searching for a GF's blog and came across yours. Started reading and came across your post about making the decision to go ahead after talking with some GF's about them having their dd's ears pierced. I think you were a smart and thoughtful mommy for piercing your twin girls ears early.
Admittedly, I know a lot of people have strong feelings when to pierce a child’s ear. “Let them decide” is being replaced by parental
decision when mommy intuition knows, “earlier is better” from either personal or friend’s experiences of unpleasant childhood ear piercing.
I think it just depends on your own personal choice whether or not you wish your baby or little girl to have pierced ears.
Congrats on making a great decision on behalf of your dd's. I think babies with earrings are the cutest things. It celebrates their femininity and femaleness. After all, they are little girls. Our ped encouraged to have our dd done as an infant too. She gave me some tips for "Care of Newly Pierced Ears."
Promise your girls will thank you later for the "gift of pierced ears" as an infant. If you or any mom would like any of our ped’s care tips for infants, then don’t hesitate to write me an e-mail.
