Daddy's Birthday

Every year the high school football team that I coach goes to the mountains for 3 1/2 days of practice, team building, and other goofy stuff.  The Mountain Camp this year was at Colorado Mountain College just outside of Glenwood Springs.  We decided to take a little family vacation after the Camp.  Mom came up on Friday at brought you along.  She had everything planned and packed carefully.  Off she went.
She left during nap time.  You both slept up until about Georgetown.   Mom pulled over and went to a recommended playground which was great.  You loved it!

Then they were off again.  Everything was going good until Lisa got lost.  There are quite a few addresses for the Colorado Mountain College and I was at the campus with very little cell phone reception.  Mom went from here to there with no luck.  With all the back and forth and because she was sick of being in her carseat Avery got sick and had a little pukey.  Finally Dad got a hold of a frustrated Mom and directed her to the right spot.  Mom showed up and joined Dad for dinner in the cafeteria.  The night's event was basketball.  So Mom and Dad watched a little of that while you both played with the other coaches daughters Kaily Petro, Sage Heffley, and Mackenzie Loyd.

Later that night, I helped you and Mom in to a hotel room in Glenwood and returned for my last night with the team.  What a night it was.  Instead of sleeping in their beds the team did a team building event.  At 11pm the team and coaches began hiking.  They hiked in the woods for a little over an hour in a loop that returned them to the football practice fields.  On the football fields they did Army drills.  Then continued hiking.  After another couple of hours they returned to the football fields and stayed most of the night.

Saturday morning the team and I left camp.  I joined you and Mom in Glenwood and headed to the Hot Springs Pool.  We swam, slept on the towels, ate flavored soft serve ice cream, and had a blast.  We wrapped up Saturday with a birthday dinner at Rib City.

Sunday we packed up from the hotel and headed to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.  The park is actually located on top of a mountain and you must take a Gondola up to the top.  We rode the Gondola, rode a Ferris Wheel, ran into my cousin Ashley Morris braving the ride that swung people over a cliff.

We wrapped up the day in Georgetown, ate a late lunch there and then played in the river.

Overall a great weekend vacation!

It gets weird at Mountain Camp.  Players are put in teams and the have a team costume.  Mark Kelly on the left is on team White Trash.   He makes a good her, even with the mop hair and the duck face pose.  Eric Rush on the right is on team Olympic Swimming.  Both guys are coached by me at the Dawg position.
